Meet April, an adorable young golden girl who recently came to us from Turkey. She was purchased to become a breeder dog, but when the breeder was jailed his family turned her into a shelter. Fortunately our rescuer saved her from the shelter and she hasn’t looked back!

April is one of the cutest and sweetest dogs you’ll meet. While she can be a tiny bit shy initially, she warms up quickly and is a very happy girl. She gets along great with other dogs, and tends to be on the submissive side. She enjoys playing and hanging out with her doggie foster sibling, running around the yard and rolling in the grass. Playing fetch and tug are 2 of her favorite games.

April is adjusting well to her new life in the USA. She can be a bit wary of new noises, especially on walks, but is getting more comfortable by the day. She has been a wonderful houseguest at her foster home…she hasn’t had any potty accidents and hasn’t picked up anything inappropriate. She is still learning how fun toys can be, and is catching on quickly.

April loves treats and is food motivated. If you ask her to sit and have a treat in your hand she will give you the cutest quiet barks as she’s trying to be patient. She’s an angel in a furry body!
