Meet Apple! This adorable 8 month old Shepherd mix has the cutest floppy ears and the goofiest personality to match. She's just an all around fun dog.
Apple's start to life wasn't easy she was found as a stray in the desert at 5 months old. Once rescued, she spent a month in foster care, where she quickly adjusted to home life and absolutely adored her two foster siblings. When she was adopted, we were so happy for her. She had a family and a doggie sister, and we thought it was Apple's perfect ending.
But two weeks ago, we got a call that broke our hearts. The family tragically lost their other dog and decided they didn't want Apple anymore. Losing her sister and her home all at once has been tough on her, and honestly we are devastated for her.
Apple has been back in foster care for about a week now, and despite everything she's still the same goofy, fun-loving puppy. She's got a lot of energy, she's smart, food motivated and loves people and other dogs. Since Apple is still a puppy she is working on basic skills waiting for treats or meals is very hard, according to Apple.
She is also working through some separation anxiety, which makes total sense given what she's been through. Apple is doing great but will need a patient adopter to help her her build confidence. She would do best in a home with another dog to mentor her, and a playful pup would be a huge plus!
We know Apple will thrive in the right home.
