This beautiful girl is Belle, a 4 year old golden retriever. Belle was abandoned by her former owner at a local PetSmart, and after being boarded there for over 5 weeks she was relinquished to our rescue. 

Belle is a fabulous girl with so many wonderful qualities. She is extremely friendly with people and eager to please. She gets along with other dogs very well. In typical golden fashion she wants to be with her people…loves hanging out, enjoys going on walks, and loves car rides. She does get very excited when new people come to the house and will jump up on them, although her foster family is working with her on that. 

Belle is a moderate energy girl who loves her walks and then will happily chill with her people. She walks very well on leash. She has been a great houseguest at her foster home…no potty accidents and only plays with appropriate toys (other than the occasional piece of paper from a trash can). She knows some basic commands such as ‘sit’ and ‘down’. 

After being abandoned Belle will need time and patience to know and trust that she is home for good. She gets a little worried when her foster parents leave home and will cry and bark a bit. However she does calm down and waits for them at the front door. She hasn’t been destructive in any way. She also has been hesitant to walk away from home on a walk, but with encouragement and praise that has diminished greatly. We are confident these things stem from all she has been through, and will take time and patience from her ultimate adopter to give her the confidence that she has found her forever family.

Belle will be spayed in the next few weeks.
