Meet Astrid, an adorable young golden girl who recently came into rescue. A Good Samaritan saw Astrid being given away on Craigslist and took her with the intent to work with a rescue to find her forever family. At maybe 1 year old she already had a litter. We happily brought her into rescue, took care of her vetting, and she is ready to be adopted!
Astrid is very much still a puppy and has great energy, plays hard, and naps even harder! She loves playing with toys and with her doggie foster siblings, and also loves cuddling with her foster parents. She is very smart and eager to please. Astrid’s foster family has been working with her on basic commands and also crate training. Her future family should plan to continue this training as she loves learning.
We don’t know what Astrid’s life was like prior to rescue, but we are guessing she wasn’t exposed to much. Some new things frighten her (like loud trucks, barking dogs, etc) but with time and more gentle exposure she will gain confidence. She enjoys her walks and is getting desensitized to all the new sights and sounds. She will need time, patience and TLC and she will thrive. She would also do best with a confident doggie sibling to learn from.
