Adopt Mason

Meet Mason, a handsome 1 year old golden retriever from Turkey.  Mason was a stray, found in a public park in Turkey, starving and emaciated when he was saved by rescuers.  He is a happy and very smart dog who loves everyone.  Mason’s favorite activities are chasing balls and playing tug. He LOVES riding in cars and will hang his head and both front paws out the window. He is living in a foster home with 2 other dogs and gets along well with them. However, he is a high energy puppy and may irritate a super submissive or older dog.  He is housebroken, knows the dog door, is crate trained, and sleeps through the night. Although he is young and playful and will run around, he has good house manners and will also keep himself busy with his toys and nylabones; and will settle down and cuddle on the couch with his people.

Mason has done a little counter surfing while in foster care, but takes verbal correction well. He is easy to walk with a gentle leader head collar; but is strong and will pull without one.  He would benefit from an obedience class to learn the basic commands. He is treat motivated and very smart, so he will be easy to train.

Mason is truly a loving and sweet dog.  His ideal home would be an active family where he can get lots of exercise.  He would also prefer his humans be home most of the time.  He is a pretty typical high energy puppy.  He needs training, lots of regular exercise, and continued socialization with doggie friends. He would love a family where he can cuddle on the couch with them.  He would do fine with kids over the age of 7. Mason learns very quickly. With training and time in a loving home, Mason will blossom and be the best companion ever!
